Dublin International Airport is the largest and most important airport in Ireland and hub of the national airline Aer Lingus as well as that of Aer Arann and Ryanair. It is located 12 km north of Dublin's inner city in the district of Collinstown. Dublin Airport was opened on 19.01.1940.
Coming from the south and the west, the bypass M50 may be reached via the national roads N81, N7, N4, N3, N2. From the city centre in Dublin, follow the motorway M50 in a northerly direction and take the exit onto the M1 towards the north to the airport. Coming from the north or east by car, take the N1/M1. Local buses stop in front of the terminal building of the main arrivals hall. Coaches leave from the airport bus car park at the far end of the main car park. The Airlink Express Bus goes to the airport to the main bus station from Dublin as well to the Connolly and Heuston stations. Dublin Bus operates routes 747 and 748 which run to the centre of the city as well as to the suburbs of Dublin. Aircoach also provides a bus transit from the innercity or the south of Dublin to the airport and AerDart operate a shuttle bus between the stops Howth Junction (DART Station) and Dublin Airport.
