Campbeltown Airport, also known as RAF Machrihanish, is in Campbeltown on the Scottish peninsula of Kintyre that juts into the Irish Sea and is closest to the mainland of Northern Ireland. The former NATO is managed by the Highlands and Islands Airports Limited, a company incorporated under the Scottish Transport Ministry, which from its base administers a total of 10 smaller Scottish Airports.
