Budapest Ferihegy Airport is Budapests airport, located 16 km south-east of the Hungarian capital on the main road 4. it is in XVIII.district in Pestszentlőrinc and was adopted on 01.01.2002 by the Hungarian republic as legal successor of the Aviation and Airport Directorate (Légiforgalmi és Repülőtéri Igazgatóság, LRI).
there is no rail connection at the airport, but an extension of the existing Metro line 3 to Ferihegy is being planned. The bus 200 takes passengers from Terminal 2 via Terminal 1 to the terminus of the M3 (Kőbánya-Kispest), from Terminal 1 the local Expressbus 93 goes to Kőbánya-Kispest Metro Station. Budapest’s transport company have a bus shuttle (Raptor Bus) running from the terminus of the Metro 3 (Kőbánya-Kispest) to Budapest airport. There are also the Airport Minibus, a Microbus Shuttleservice, which has a capacity of 8-11 Ppassengers and takes passengers to any part of Budapest. By car, the airport, located outside the city on the E 60, can be accessed using the Ferihegy High-Speed Road.
Ferihegy airport is today the busiest international airport in hungary and the hub of the Hungarian airline Malev. At the smaller terminal 1 at Ferihegy Airport, the low-cost airlines are handled. Terminal 2A was exclusively constructed for use by the states Malev airline and today also accommodates its partner airlines. Terminal 2B is used to check-in all other flights.
