Bucharest-Henri Coanda, also known as Bucharest-Otopeni is the most important airport in Romania. There is also another far smaller and older airport in the Romanian capital, Bucharest-Baneasa, 5 miles south.

The airport was opened in 1968 sand is about 5 miles north of Bucharest-Baneasa and 10 miles north of the city centre. It is located o the main road DN-1/E-6. From the centre of Buscharest take the buses 148,149,301,309 and the Airport express bus 783, which runs between 5.30 am and 11 pm at 15 – 30 minute intervals and at weekdays at 30 minute intervals. Journey time is 60 minutes.
