Bournemouth International Airport, in the southern county of Dorset, is located about 8 kilometres northeast of the city centre, near the small community of Christchurch. The airport is amongst the twenty major airports in the country according to traffic volume.

The airport is located near the A338 towards St. Leonards. Motorists should take the A31 and in St. Leonards should turn onto the A338 towards Bournemouth; the airport is then signposted.
Those arriving by train should travel to Bournemouth Railway Station and then use the Bournemouth Airport Shuttle that runs at 30-minute intervals and takes about 15 minutes to reach the airport. Alternatively, the local public transport bus number 747 also goes to the airport at regular intervals.
