Amsterdam Schiphol International Airport is the most important airport in the Netherlands. It is one of the 20 largest airports worldwide with a total of more than 47 million passengers handled yearly.

Amsterdam Schiphol airport is 10 miles south west of the city centre, near Haarlemmeer. Passengers arriving by car please take the motorway. Take the A4/E19 to exit 2 (Luchthaven Schiphol) and then follow the signs to the airport parking.
Rail passengers take trains to Schiphol Railway Station, which is directly under the Schiphol Plaza, the central entrance hall of the terminal. From Asterdam Centraal Station there are also daily trains and bus numbers 192, 195, 245 and 358 that go to the airport.

The airport building at Schiphol 1Terminal consists of 3 departure areas. Departure halls 1 and 2 are used by the three airline alliances: Star Alliance, Sky Team and members of the Oneworld Alliance.
Departure hall 1 is used by Adria Airways, Airlinair, Air Malta, Air Nostrum, Alitalia, Austrian Airlines, bmi, Clickair, Finnair, Iberia, Icelandair, LOT, Lufthansa, Air Mesopotamia, Olympic Airlines, SAS, SATA International, Swiss, TAP Portugal, VLM Airlines and Vueling Airlines.
