Aberdeen Airport, also called Aberdeen/Dyce Airport, is Scotland’s third largest airport and at place 13 in Great Britain. It is 8 km northwest of Aberdeen city centre in the neighbouring town of Dyce and belongs to the BAA along with the airports Glasgow International Airport, London-Heathrow, London-Gatwick, London-Stansted, Edinburgh and Southampton.

Access to the airport is signposted from the A96 (Aberdeen to Inverness Road). Local bus routes from Aberdeen and Dyce stop at Dyce train station and regular services are provided from the central station in Aberdeen city centre to all parts of Scotland and England. The bus companies serving the airport with express buses include First Aberdeen and Stagecoach Bluebird.

The airport, built in 1931 in the north-eastern region of Scotland, provides flights to 35 destinations with 27 airlines and serves major European passenger air traffic destinations. In summer and winter, charter flights are also provided in addition to the regular flight timetable, going for example to Alicante with Bmi British Midland, to Las Palmas and Palma with Air Europa, and to Tenerife-South with Spanair. Special charter flights fly to: Malta, Naples, Palermo, Vienna amongst others. Other airlines represented at the airport are: Air France (Paris-Charles de Gaulle), British Airways (London-Gatwick, London-Heathrow), easyJet (London-Luton), Ryanair (Dublin, Liverpool) and Scandinavian Airlines System (Copenhagen). Since March 2006, bmi has been flying from Aberdeen to Amsterdam and Flybe to Norwich.
