History:
The Mexican low-cost airline Volaris was founded in 2005 in Toluca, about 50 miles west of Mexico City. The shareholders of the airline company are the largest Mexican television station Televisa, the Salvadorian airline TACA, the Mexican bank Inbursa and the Investment company Protego Discovery Fund.

Network:
Currently Volaris serves exclusively Mexican destinations. Altogether, 15 cities are served from Toluca: Aguascalientes, Cancun, Ciudad Juarez, Mexico City, Guadalajara, Hermosillo, Leon Bajio, Los Cabos, Merida, Mexicali, Monterrey, Morelia, Puebla, Tijuana and Villahermosa.
