Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) is Ukraine?s leading international airline. It was founded in 1992, one year after Ukraine became an independent state. It was one of the first joint ventures with foreign capital in Ukraine. UIA was the first airline in CIS to become a full member of IATA and was the first airline in the former Soviet Union to introduce new Boeing 737 aircraft. Over the years since its creation UIA has satisfied all of the goals set out in its Foundation documents: creating a high quality competitive international Ukrainian airline; expanding and integrating Ukraine?s aviation industry worldwide; introducing the best technology and management methods; attracting foreign investment and earning profits.
