History:
The Venezuelan airline Santa Barbara Airlines was founded on 1st November 1995 in Santa Barbara del Zulia. The maiden flight took place on 1st March of the following year to Maracaibo. At first, the two ATR-42 aircraft transported only employees of the oil industry, but the airline expanded over the years to serve routes in the whole of the country. Since 2002, the airline also owns Islas Airways on Tenerife, a regional subsidiary, which primarily transports passengers regionally in the Canary Islands.

Santa Barbara’s network includes numerous national destinations, as well as some international destinations, which are served regularly from the two bases in Caracas and Maracaibo, such as Merida, Cumana, Barquisimeto, Aruba, Quito, Miami, Funchal, Tenerife and Madrid.
