The Mexican low-cost airline InterJet was founded in 2005 in Toluca, in the state of Mexico. The air carrier currently (Summer 2007) flies from its hub in Toluca to a total of 13 different Mexican airports including to Acapulco, Cancun, Ciudad Juarez, Monterrey, Puerto Vallarta and Vera Cruz. Another ten airports are to be added by the end of 2007.
The owners of the Mexican group Grupe Aleman, also plan to include international destinations in the year 2008. These will include cheap flights to the United States, Costa Rica and El Salvador.
