Lithuanian Airlines is the national carrier of the Republic of Lithuania, founded on 20 September 1991 as a State owned enterprise Lithuanian Airlines, which was reorganised into the joint-stock company Lithuanian Airlines. All the authorised capital belong to the State, the shares of Lithuanian Airlines were transfered to the State Property Fund. Joint-stock company Lithuanian Airlines (herein called LAL) performs diversified activity: transportation of passengers, cargo and mail on scheduled and charter flights to international and domestic destinations, maintenance and ground handling.
Lithuanian Airlines also has one subsidiary company:
a cargo export and import terminal LAL Cargo (owns 100 percent of shares)
The aircraft fleet of Lithuanian Airlines consists of 5 x Boeing 737 and 3 x Saab 2000 aircraft.
