History:
Domodedovo Airlines was founded in 1964 by Aeorflot under the old name Domodedovo United Air Detachment. The principal aim then was the carriage of passengers in the eastern Soviet republics and the neighbouring Central Asian states. In 1993, after the collapse of the Soviet Union, the airline separated from Aeroflot and then in 1998, was reconstructed. In 2001, the airline was finally privatised. The Russian government purchased 51% of shares and the brothers Abramovich 49%. As the two brothers are also also financially involved in the other airlines Kras Air, Omskavia, Samara Airlines and Sibaviatrans, in 2004, the AiRUnion alliance was established under the leadership of the brothers Abramovich. This alliance has in the meantime become the second largest airline of the Russian Federation after Aeroflot. On the Domodedovo website, passengers may not only book flights with Domodedovo but also with the partner airlines.

Domodedovo Airlines network includes more than 20 cities, which are mainly in Siberia and the neighbouring Central Asian countries.
Domestic Russian destinations from the hub in Moscow-Domodedovo include Samara, Vladivostok, Tomsk, Anadyr, Yakutsk and Omsk. Foreign destinations include Dushanbe, Tashkent, Fergana, but also Hanover, Tivat and Salzburg. There are also seasonal and charter flights to holiday destinations such as to India, to the Canary Islands, to Thailand and Malaysia.
