Description:
The Philippine airline Cebu Air was founded in 1996 in Manila by the investor JG Summit Holdings. The airline is a so-called low cost airline and has meanwhile gained just under 39% of the Philippines market share. The low-cost airline only provides good value regional flights in the Philippines and to the nearby east Asian region, flying for example to Butuan, Cotabato, Laoag or Zamboanga, but also to Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Shanghai. In the future, Cebu Air is planning to expand its fleet in order to compete with other established East Asian airlines such as Tiger Airways and intends to include routes from Singapore or Air Asia from Malaysia. The airline is also planning to go public in 2008.
