The airline Blue1 has been a member of the Finnish SAS group since 1998 and cooperates with AirBaltic. The airline was formerly called Air Botnia and was founded in 1987. Since its sale to the SAS group in January 1998 it has been a full subsidiary company of SAS. The company has been operating under its new name Blue1 since the beginning of 2004.
With the aim of becoming the best regional airline for business and holiday travel in the northern European region, the Finnish low-cost airline has established a stable position in the markets within Finland as well as internationally and serves Finnish domestic routes as well as flying to Scandinavia and Europe.
Blue1 flies from Helsinki, Tampere, Turku, Oulu and Vaasa directly to Stockholm and Copenhagen. From these Scandinavian hubs there exist the best connections to Europe, the USA and the Far East.
